Congratulations Rev. Jeffery Riddle!

June 29 2021

In the United Methodist Church, becoming an ordained minister is not an easy task. Beside a master of divinity degree from a United Methodist seminary or a seminary approved by the Church, a candidate must complete a three-year “Residency in Ministry” (RIM) program where the clergy meets regularly with conference leadership and others going through the RIM process and serve as a provisional elder for at least 2 years. At the completion of RIM, clergy must go through interviews with the Board of Ordained Ministry and answer theological questions. Once those are complete, clergy are then recommended by the Board of Ordained Ministry for ordination, voted on during the clergy session at Annual Conference and finally ordained as a member in full connection as either an elder or a deacon.

We give thanks for and congratulate Rev. Jeffery Riddle (New Hope) who has completed all his requirements and was ordained as a Full Elder in the United Methodist Church on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Congratulations Rev. Jeffery Riddle!
